Why millimetres?
Bathroom products are specified in millimetres (mm) for precision. 1 cm = 10 mm, and 1 metre = 1000 mm. Always measure twice and write down width × depth × height.
Tip: measure the available space, not the old product — fittings and skirting can change what actually fits.
What to measure

- Alcove length, width and depth (mm).
- Door swing and access for delivery.

- Wall width available and depth from wall.
- Plumbing position (centre of waste from wall & floor).
- Clearance for drawers/doors to open.
Showers
- Tray footprint (width × depth) and ceiling height.
- Wall-to-wall measurements at top, middle and bottom (walls are rarely perfectly square).
